Climate change and the Resiliency of the Filipino
Because of these problems, many Filipinos suffer. Families lose their homes after storms, farmers struggle to grow crops during long dry seasons, and coastal areas face the risk of rising sea levels. These situations make life harder, especially for the poor, who have less resources to get.
But even with all these challenges, Filipinos are known to be strong. The spirit of bayanihan—helping each other in times of need—shows how people can come together after disasters. Communities rebuild, share resources, and give hope to someone despite the difficulties.
However, resiliency is not enough if the environment continues to get worse. There is a need for stricter laws to protect nature, better waste management, and more awareness about climate change. Working together as a nation can make a big difference in preparing for future disasters.
In the end, climate change is a problem that affects everyone, but the strength and unity of Filipinos give hope that we can go through it. If we care for the environment and practice simple acts of responsibility every day, we can make our country more resilient, not just against disasters, but for future generations too.
