Clean and Green: Simple Ways to Care for Our Environment

Coastal Clean Up

A group of volunteers, are cleaning up a beach filled with trash
and plastic waste. They are actively picking up litter and placing it into bags to help restore the cleanliness of the shoreline

Energy Conservation

Turning off devices when they're not being used is a simple mechanism to conserve energy and lower greenhouse gas emissions. We reduce the need for electricity, which is usually generated from fossil fuels that pollute the environment, by doing so. This little habit not only saves nature but also decreases our electricity bills.

Water Conservation
Conserving water ensures that this precious resource will be accessible to us all in the years to come. Freshwater is scarce, and with the increasing population and climate change, it is essential more than ever to conserve it. By saving water—like not letting the tap run when not in use, fixing leaks, harvesting rainwater, and implementing effective irrigation—we are able to avoid wastage and ensure every drop counts. Conserving water not only preserves the environment and healthy ecosystems, but it also helps communities by providing sufficient supply for drinking, agriculture, and day-to-day activities. By doing simple things, we can provide a good amount of water to future generations and contribute to a more sustainable planet.

Recycling
People of all ages are coming together to maintain the environment clean by collecting garbage and recycling waste. Children, teenagers, and adults alike contribute significantly to nature protection through collaboration and mutual responsibility. Through this concerted effort, they make parks, beaches, rivers, and residential areas clean, secure, and pleasant for everyone. These initiatives not only maintain the loveliness of the natural environment but also safeguard animals from the threat of pollutants and trash. In addition, clean-up operations held by communities stimulate individuals to participate and promote awareness about the significance of taking care of the earth. With these simple but significant actions, individuals demonstrate that protecting the
environment is everyone's responsibility, which serves
both present and future generations.

BURIK-YCAP
In this photo, I wear a green shirt while participating in the BURIK-YCAP coastal clean-up activity. Along with my fellow volunteers, we swept and collected debris brought in by the waves. We helped restore the cleanliness of the shoreline. This activity was not just about picking up trash; it was about caring for the environment and working together to make a positive impact.

Through this experience, I realized that even small efforts can lead to bigger changes when we work together. The clean-up reminded me of our shared responsibility to protect nature and the importance of getting involved in activities that support sustainability. By joining this initiative, I felt proud to be part of a community that values cooperation, discipline, and taking care of our natural resources.

Reflection for the First Quarter

a. What are the learning/discoveries that I have gained?

I gained several new lessons in school during the first quarter and also about myself. I learned that I can do more if I concentrate and work harder. I also learned that listening carefully and asking questions enable me to understand well.

b. What are the problems/challenges that I have encountered?

Some of the challenges that I experienced were struggling to manage my time and complete everything. At times, I would get worn out and anxious, particularly when there were numerous tasks to accomplish. I also struggled with some topics that were challenging for me.

c. How did I solve these challenges?

I attempted to resolve these issues by creating a timetable and completing my work one at a time. I also sought assistance from my peers and instructors when I could not comprehend something. Through this, I was able to adapt and enhance.

d. Furthermore, I will.

Moving forward, I shall attempt to study in advance and not cram. I shall also make an effort to be more participative in class and keep up the effort. I wish to do better during the subsequent quarters.

Nutrition Month

During the lest nutrition month, I was able to participate in activities and celebrations. Being a member of the STEP Club which was also tasked to handle the activity. I played an important role in making sure things ware smooth. I joined the competitions, activities and programs by facilitating not just to be the club representative, but also to show my support in promoting everyone to have a healthy lifestyle. It was a meaningful and fun experience, especially seeing how everyone participated and learned something new.

Aside from events at school, I also put an effort in improving my     own health. I've been working out and exercising regularly,     Exercising to build strength and maintain the shape of the body.     There were times when it was difficult to continue, but being with the Nutrition month, I was reminded of how much I need to care for my  self. Exercise at the end of each day left me more positive, and it has     now become something I really love.

More important, I've began focusing more on the food that I consume. Recently, I've been eating healthier by adding more fruits, vegetables, and meals to my diet. I learned that proper nutrition is very much responsible for both physical and mental well-being. In all, this year's nutrition month was not just about attending events. It was also an opportunity for me to look at my own habits and begin living a healthier lifestyle

What Describes Ivan

I'm someone who lives in an energetic life. I love working out, wether it's through sorts or training. Being athletic helps me stay focused and confident in everything I do. Standing at 5'6, I may not be the tallest, but I really am not. Sports and exercise ain't just hobbies for me because they're part of my everyday routine.

Music is another huge part of my self. I'm passionate about listening to different music, exploring new sounds and most of all, playing guitar. There's something about music that helps me express what I can't say in words. Playing guitar is a simple way of connecting with anything deeper. I can spend hours getting lost in the melody of the song, especially when I'm learning something new. Music brings me  peace focus and joy which feels like a second language to me.

I also enjoy things that can sharpen my mind, like playing chess. It's a game of strategy, patience and skills that I apply to life from the board. I love how every move in chess matters and how it challenges me to think far from ahead which is predicting. It teaches me to stay calm under pressure and to see every situation from different angles. I'm also into video games which is my way to also connect with other people.
